• In order to provide more options and incentives for excellent education to thetalentedstudentsstudyingingovernmentschools,thestategovernment has implemented the Mukhyamantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship for Classes 6 to 12 and Mukhyamantri Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship Schemes for Classes 9 to 12 in the year 2023-24.
• Keeping in view its success, a provision has been made by the state government to start the Vigyan Sadhna Merit Scholarship Scheme to promote science stream in standard 11-12 from the year 2024-25.
• Under the Vigyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship Scheme, students taking science stream in class 11 and 12 every year will be given scholarships every year, for which a provision of Rs.250 crores will be made for the year 2024-25.
• A student who has passed the class 10 board examination for many school with more than 50% percent will get a scholarship on taking science stream in standard 11-12 –
• Rs.10,000/- per annum for Standard 11 and Rs.15,000/- per annum for Standard 12.(Of which 50% of the amount will be credited at the beginning of the year and the remaining 50% amount will be accounted for based on the attendance of the first session in the second session).
• With this scheme, the number of students in the science streams estimated to increase from 2 lakhs to more than 5 lakhs annually in the next five years.
