The school playground provides a safe outdoors environment within the school that stimulates children to use their creative energy in healthy interactions with one another.
Smart class
The journey of developing a smart classroom has been long but escalating. From a classroom that solely depends upon chalks and boards for interaction, the step has been taken towards “interactive whiteboards”.
Replacing the traditional notion of teaching, it incorporates the finest “digital ink technology” that helps the children to stay focused towards the classroom teaching and in an entertaining way.
School lab
The school has well equipped Composite Science Lab. This laboratory is well equipped to conduct experiments as per the syllabi of GSEB. The lab is periodically upgraded to fulfill the requirements of the curriculum. Students have facilities to perform experiments, to measure data and to analyzeresults so as to match their practical observations with theoretical knowledge
Computer lab
Well-designed and separate computer labs for kids and older children, run by a well-educated and qualified faculty, with one-on-one access, which means there is one computer for each child. Pre – primary kids learn words through PowerPoint presentations and innovative software.
There are 60 computers in our labs currently. They are state-of-the-art with multimedia, most of them with 22″ LCD monitors that are easier on eyes, generate less heat and consume less power thereby keeping the classroom atmosphere comfortable for children. We use our own LAN with Windows XP for teaching-learning, documentation and presentations.
Art/Music/Dance/Karate rooms
Activity rooms are designed keeping in mind the various needs of the plethora of activities provided by the school. The different activity rooms available in the school are:
Art Room
Here, at Day School, we hone skills of the child and accelerate them to achieve their dream. We believe that ‘Art’ is the form of any activity performed to express its inner self. Students are encouraged and facilitated for sketching and painting. The school is well equipped with a separate Art room to lay emphasis on the needs of the different age of the students.
Dance
There is spacious and well-equipped dance room in the school building which facilitate the creative, aesthetic and artistic nurturing of the school children. Dance and Drama are an integral part of our School. Students perform dance at various school events, including the Annual Day, Assembly, and many more cultural events. Students are trained in various dance forms. Opportunities to perform in inter house, inter school and other levels is provided to the students.
Music
Music is an integral part of our life. It is the most relaxing diversion in our stressful life. Children of all ages love music classes. This activity starts right from the beginning, the Nursery class and continues up to class 10. Our school trains children in both – vocal and instrumental music. Children are taught songs in Gujarati, Hindi and also English. Songs are also earmarked for special occasions like Independence Day, Republic Day, national and social festivals. Training in instrumental music starts from class 5. Students are trained in instruments according to their talent and ability. The school has instruments like harmonium, flute, tabla, keyboard and various drums. An orchestra/band is formed of students who play various instruments and they are taught both Indian and western musical pieces. The school has talented teachers who teach vocal and instrumental music. They also conduct individual/group singing competitions among students.
